The Decline of Ancient Worship
In the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verses 1-2, it is clearly stated: “O Arjuna! This Yoga, which is the knowledge of the Vedas as expressed in the Gita, I originally imparted to the Sun God. The Sun God conveyed it to his son Manu, and Manu passed it on to his son Ikshvaku. Later, this knowledge was understood by the royal sages, but over time, it became lost and disappeared.”
The “Jain Dharma Kosh” on pages 175 and 177 describes
the life events of Tirthankara Rishabdev: Tirthankara Rishabdev was the son of the last Kulkar Nabhiraja, and his mother was Marudevi. Nabhiraja, an Ikshvaku dynasty king, was a popular ruler of Ayodhya. When Rishabdev came of age, Nabhiraja arranged his marriage to Sunanda and Sumangala. Sunanda gave birth to a radiant son, Bahubali, and a daughter, Sundari, while Sumangala gave birth to Bharat and 99 other sons, as well as a daughter named Brahmi.
In due time, Rishabdev entrusted the kingdom of Ayodhya to Bharat, Takshashila to Bahubali, and allocated the other regions to the remaining princes according to their abilities. He then renounced worldly life and immersed himself in spiritual practice. During his period of asceticism, Rishabdev went without food for a year. Later, his fast was broken by his grandson Shreyans Kumar, who offered him sugarcane juice. After a thousand years of rigorous penance, Rishabdev attained Kevala Jnana (omniscience) and began imparting spiritual teachings. His first disciple was Marichi, the son of Bharat, who later became the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, Mahavira Vardhaman.
What is Said in the Holy Gita?
O Arjuna! This Yoga, meaning devotion or practice, does not succeed for one who eats too much or too little, sleeps too much or too little.
In Chapter 6, Verse 16 of the Bhagavad Gita, it is mentioned:
Note: Rishabdev Ji abandoned the scriptural methods of the Vedas and Shastras, and followed his own path, which did not lead to any benefit, nor was it meant to.
Other References:
In Chapter 17, Verses 5-6, the Gita states: “Those who perform severe austerities not prescribed by the scriptures, acting out of egoism and self-conceit, and tormenting the elements and energies within their own bodies as well as Me who dwells in their hearts, are to be considered of demonic nature.”
The above references from the Gita make it clear that until the time of Ikshvaku dynasty’s Nabhiraja, meaning during Satya Yuga, for about one hundred thousand years, the worship was performed according to the Vedic knowledge as expressed in the Gita. After Nabhiraja’s son Rishabdev, a deviation from scriptural methods began. This marked the end of Sanatani worship. The severe austerities practiced by Rishabdev Ji are not in accordance with Vedic methods of worship. Therefore, Rishabdev Ji’s devotion was a deviation from scriptural methods, which led to the loss of his life without achieving liberation.
Proof from Shrimad Bhagavat Sudha Sagar (Sukh Sagar) Purana:
There is a story where Rishabdev Ji, holding a stone in his mouth, wandered naked in the forest. A fire broke out, and Rishabdev Ji burned to death in that wildfire. (This is a mythological story.) Can this be considered liberation? From that time onward, sages began abandoning scriptural methods and following their own paths. Evidence of this can be found in various Puranas, which describe how certain sages performed severe penances for many years, yet this was all contrary to the teachings of the Vedas. The experiences of these sages, which were contrary to the scriptures, led to the creation of the 18 Puranas, where the knowledge is entirely opposed to the Vedas and the Gita.
Examples: Even Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva performed severe penances, which were contrary to the teachings of the Gita.
In the present day, the name “Sanatan Dharma” is also known as Vedic Dharma or Hindu Dharma. Adi Shankaracharya established the practice of worshiping deities and firmly integrated the knowledge of the Puranas into Sanatan Dharma, also known as Hindu Dharma.
Let’s revisit Gita Chapter 4, Verses 1-2, where the knowledge giver of the Gita says to Arjuna: “I imparted this Yoga, meaning the Vedic knowledge as expressed in the Gita (since the Gita is considered the essence of the four Vedas), to the Sun God. The Sun God conveyed it to his son Vaivasvata Manu, and Manu passed it on to his son Ikshvaku.”
“O Arjuna, by this means, the royal sages understood this Yoga, meaning the Vedic knowledge. But after that, the Yoga (Vedic knowledge) was lost from this earth.” (Gita Chapter 4, Verse 2)
Important: The original text of Verse 2 contains the word “Nashtha,” which accurately means “destroyed.”
By the time of King Nabhiraja, Satya Yuga had lasted for about one hundred thousand years. The knowledge of the Gita was spoken towards the end of Dwapara Yuga, approximately 100 years before Kali Yuga. According to this timeline, the knowledge of the Gita was spoken 3,787,900 years after King Nabhiraja. During this period, all sages engaged in practices contrary to the Vedas, as evidenced by the 18 Puranas. None of the practices described in the Puranas align with the teachings of the Gita or the Vedas.
Evidence of Practices Contrary to the Gita:
In Gita Chapter 9, Verse 25, it is said: “Those who worship the ancestors go to the ancestors, those who worship spirits go to the spirits, those who worship the deities go to the deities, and My devotees come to Me.“
If we examine the worship practices within the Hindu religion, it is evident that the majority of Hindus engage in ancestor worship, spirit worship, and the worship of deities, which, according to Gita Chapter 16, Verse 23, is futile because it is a deviation from scriptural methods.
The Revival of Sanatani Worship:
I (the author- Sant Rampal Ji) and 90% of my followers are Hindus. We have abandoned practices that are not in accordance with the scriptures. We have thoroughly studied and understood the scriptures, and now we have begun practicing the scripturally correct methods of worship, which are validated by all the scriptures. This is the process:
Let’s also examine Gita Chapter 4, Verse 34, where it is said: “To obtain that knowledge (the subtle knowledge of the Vedas), approach the enlightened sages who have seen the truth.”
The Key Point: The knowledge of the Absolute Truth is not contained in the Gita. If it were, the giver of the Gita would not have instructed Arjuna to seek it from enlightened sages. Due to the absence of enlightened sages, society engages in misguided practices, wasting human life. When an enlightened sage, as described in Gita Chapter 4, Verse 34, is found, they reveal the complete spiritual knowledge. By listening to and understanding this knowledge, the wise perform their worship according to the scriptures and attain a blessed life. One religion (human religion) emerges.
Saint Garibdas Ji, from the village Chhudani, District Jhajjar, Haryana (India), said in his divine words:
“Garib, Aisa Nirmal Gyan Hai, Nirmal Kare Sharir.
Aur Gyan Mandleek Hai, Chakwe Gyan Kabir..”
गरीब, ऐसा निर्मल नाम है, निर्मल करे शरीर।
और ज्ञान मंडलीक है, चकवै ज्ञान कबीर।।
Saint Garibdas Ji said that the true name is so effective that it purifies the soul. Spiritual knowledge also alleviates the physical sufferings. Kabir Sahib’s spiritual knowledge is (chakravat) universal and all-encompassing. Other knowledge (mandalik) is regional, meaning worldly knowledge.
At the age of ten, Saint Garibdas Ji was visited by the Supreme God from the highest eternal abode, known as Satlok, in the village of Chhudani, District Jhajjar, Haryana. His soul was taken above to where God resides.
Evidence: In the Rigveda, Mandala 9, Sukta 54, Mantra 3, it is said that God resides in the highest realm.
For proof, see this photocopy of the mantra, translated by Arya Samaj scholars. The publisher is Tilak Raj Arya, President, Arya Publication, 814A, Kundlewalan, Ajmeri Gate, Delhi, and the printer is Ajay Printers, Shahdara, Delhi.
Analysis: In the photocopy of Rigveda Mandala 9, Sukta 54, Mantra 3, you can see that even in the translation by Arya Samaj scholars, it is clearly stated that the Supreme God (Bhuvanopari) is seated above all the universes, meaning He resides above.
The exact translation is as follows:
“(Ayam) This (Somaḥ Deva) immortal God, cool like the moon (Sūryaḥ), similar to the sun, (Viśvāni) purifies all (Punānaḥ) while sitting (Bhuvanopari) above all the universes.”
Meaning: Just as the sun is above and benefits everyone with its light and warmth, in the same way, this immortal God, described in the above mantra, is seated above all the universes.
Saint Garibdas Ji was visited by the Supreme Being from the eternal abode, Satlok, when he was ten years old in the village of Chhudani, District Jhajjar, Haryana. His soul was taken to the Supreme Being’s abode and later returned to Earth. At first thought to be dead, his body was placed on a funeral pyre, but he suddenly came back to life and lived for 51 more years (a total of 61 years).
He was imparted complete spiritual knowledge (the knowledge of the Absolute Truth or the subtle Vedas) by the Supreme Being. His knowledge opened the doors to spiritual understanding, and he then revealed that the one master of all creation is the Supreme Akshar Brahman, the Eternal Person. All beings in the universe are His children. However, due to confusion, today’s religious leaders have erected walls between different religions.
Garib Dass Ji says:
Garib, Vhi Muhmmad vhi Mahadev, Vhi Adam Vhi Brahma.
Garibdas dusra koi nahin, Dekh Aapne Gharma..गरीब, वही मुहम्मद वही महादेव, वही आदम वही ब्रह्मा।
गरीबदास दूसरा कोई नहीं, देख आपने घरमा।।
Saint Garibdas Ji explained that Prophet Muhammad was a soul who came from the abode of Lord Shiva, making the founder of Islam a significant soul associated with Lord Shiva. It is also said that Adam was sent from Brahma‘s abode, suggesting that both Brahma and Adam share the same origin. If you don’t believe me, try the spiritual practice I have described and see for yourself; your spiritual vision will open, and you will realize that all humanity shares one Supreme Father.
Consider This:
Islam began approximately 450 years after the birth of Jesus Christ. Adi Shankaracharya, who lived 508 years before Jesus Christ, gave Sanatan Dharma its Hindu identity and promoted the worship of idols and deities. Sanatan Dharma has been practiced since the beginning of Satya Yuga. Therefore, the souls of Jesus, Moses, Adam, and Muhammad were originally Sanatanis. Hence, all beings in the world are children of the one Supreme Being and parts of the same Supreme Soul.
My (Rampal Das’s) belief is:
“Our Race is Living being, Mankind is our Religion,
Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian—There is no Seprate religion.”
I prove through spiritual science that all beings in the world are children of one Supreme Being, and they all yearn to return to that Supreme Father. They are all attempting different forms of worship to return to Him. Now, let’s understand the unity of humanity through the teachings of Saint Garibdas Ji. The essence of Saint Garibdas Ji’s words is that all human bodies are structured in the same way, with lotus chakras within the body. Liberation can only be achieved in human form, and there is only one path to reach the abode where the Supreme Being resides. That place is the Supreme Abode, as described in Gita Chapter 15, Verse 4, which states:
“After attaining knowledge of the Absolute Truth, one should seek that Supreme Abode of the Supreme Being, from which the soul never returns, and where the being that created and sustains the universe resides. Worship Him.”
